The Fleet Manager has the responsibility of maintaining the boats to a high standard, keeping them equal, securing sponsorship and charters and managing the boats for the profile regattas. Costs for all MRX users are kept to a minimum with income coming from owners, charters, sponsorship and national and international regattas.

The Fleet Manager operates under the direction of the Owners Committee - Phil Douglas, James Glidden, Seth Thompson, Geoff Thorpe and Pete Waters.

Patrons, John Street and Kim McDell also provide guidance.

The Fleet is operated under Maritime NZ’s Safe Ship Management program.
