2012 Pacific Keel Boat Challenge

Update - Unfortunately time did not allow us to do this event justice in 2012. The regatta has now planned for 2013 - announcement to come. Register your interest in the 2013 event by E-mailing MRX Yachting.

In it's place this year the Farr MRX Challenge will be run as a division in the BMW Auckland Regatta with overseas entries being encouraged to participate in 4 of the 10 yachts available. Click here for more information.

The 2013 Pacific Keel Boat Challenge is expected to be based on the plans below for 2012. We welcome suggestions and feedback.

Teams from Yacht Clubs from the USA, Asia, Australia, the Pacific Islands and New Zealand are invited to compete in the 2012 Pacific Keel Boat Challenge.

The Regatta will be organised by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron and Bucklands Beach Yacht Club as part of the BMW Auckland Regatta.

The event will be held in 10 identical Farr 10.2 metre MRX Yachts each with 6 crew over 1 practice and 4 race days.

Up to 21 windward leeward and harbour course races will be held on Auckland's sparkling Waitemata harbour.
